Growing up in Lynnville, a small town in Southern Indiana (about 30 minutes from Evansville), this small town girl had big plans of pursuing a career in Radiology. In 1999, I headed to Ball State University where I completed my Associate’s Degree in Radiography in 2002. I continued to work as a radiologic technologist at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis while I finished my Bachelor’s degree at Ball State.
A few short years later when the Registered Radiologist Assistant career path was accredited, I knew this was where I wanted to be. I enrolled in the Master of Imaging Sciences degree through the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and in 2007, I became the first Master’s level Radiologist Assistant graduate in the nation. I currently work for Radiology Associates of Indianapolis, Inc. I absolutely love my job as a radiologist assistant and feel privileged to enjoy what I do.
Although I have only been working in Radiology for less than 10 years, I feel that I have been privileged to work with and learn from some very influential people in the field. I want to thank the ISRT officers and volunteers, past, present, and future. All of our accomplishments would not be possible without your selfless devotion of time. I have been inspired by so many of the ISRT Presidents before me for their commitment and passion for what they do. I hope to one day inspire others as well. My goal as your 2009-2010 ISRT President is to spread knowledge of the ISRT mission and purpose and also to encourage other technologists to support the society that supports their profession!
